Product description

radarTOUCH is an area scanner that is designed for multitouch applications beyond standard display sizes. The system is ideal for realizing non-contact interaction with any type of screen or floor. The centerpiece of the system is an infrared laser that emits a laser beam over a specific area. This two-dimensional invisible area covers up to 25 meters.

The device periodically sends out light pulses at a scanning angle of 190° through a rotating deflector.

If the pulses fall on objects or obstacles, the light is reflected and then received and analyzed by the device. Based on the propagation time of the radiated light and the current angle of the deflector unit, the radarTOUCH unit calculates the exact coordinates of the object.

This data can be used by the unit in two different application areas - object measurement - where the angular resolution of 0.36° allows the measurement of distances to objects with an accuracy of up to 5 mm within the measurement range - or object detection, where the contours of the detection fields are defined in the detection fields.

The radarTOUCH measuring device can be placed on the floor or mounted above an interactive area, such as on a truss. Hanging installation requires the radarTOUCH mounting system. Using the deluxe mounting system, the following parameters can be adjusted:

- the angle of rotation of the measuring device in relation to the active area -(should be 0°);
- Z-axis distance between the measuring device and, for example, the screen used as the active area;
- Y-axis inclination.

To attach the radarTOUCH measuring device to the mounting system, use four M5 screws (the longer 50 mm screws are adapted to the top of the measuring device, where the cables are connected).

The standard mounting system is a good solution for most applications. However, if the installation requires very high precision, use the deluxe system. In the standard mounting system, the following parameters can be adjusted:

- Y-axis tilt;
- the angle of rotation of the measuring device concerning the active area (should be 0°).
