Product description

QU-16 is a digital audio mixer from the well-known brand Allen & Heath. It features 22 analog inputs (16 mono channels - XLR microphone inputs and line inputs on 6.3mm TRS jack), 3 stereo channels and 2 stereo effects returns. Analog signals are captured by 24-bit analog-to-digital converters characterized by low latency, which by matching 24-bit DACs guarantee excellent quality at the output.

The Allen & Heath QU-16 offers 17 motorized attenuators in three layers (two factory, one fixed and one user-programmable) and digitally controlled microphone preamplifiers. The QU-16 also guarantees recording of up to 100 full scenes and overwrite protection, and four RackFX stereo engines allow sound effects to be returned to the mix on dedicated return channels, so stereo and mono channels are not interleaved.

Dedicated potentiometers allow configuration of the preamp Gain, HPF high-pass filter, four-band parametric EQ, noise gate, as well as a compressor operating in four modes - Manual RMS, Manual Peak, Auto Slow Opto, Auto Punchbag. The console also features an AES output, a listening system via dSNAKE, a dedicated input and preamp for a Talkback communication microphone, or an output for a two-track.

The QU-16 is equipped with an intuitive interface in the form of an 800x480 px touchscreen, a dedicated rotary encoder, as well as dedicated keys and on-screen tabs indicating counters, RTAs, channel processing, scenes, or configuration menus. An unquestionable advantage of the device is the possibility of direct USB multitrack recording (located on the rear panel USB-B port) via the Qu-Drive recorder. The mixer can be controlled via dedicated apps - Qu-Pad (EQ), Qu-You for smartphones (iOS, Android) and Qu-Control (basic parameter settings, iOS).

The QU-16 mixer's dimensions allow it to be mounted in a 19" rack.

The Allen & Heath QU-16 is an excellent choice for live and stationary events, streaming, studio recording or conferences. Rent a professional digital audio mixer at SQM Rental House today!
