The Novastar MX40 Pro is a flagship all-in-one LED controller that features 20 Gigabit Ethernet ports with COEX control, three HDMI 2.0 signal inputs, a DisplayPort 1.2 input, as well as 12G-SDI on a BNC connector. The MX40 Pro also offers four 10G fiber outputs.
The maximum input resolution, which is accpetable by the Novastar MX40 Pro processor, is 4096x2160 pixels at 60Hz for all ports - HDMI 2.0, DP 1.2 and 12G-SDI (the minimum resolution is 800x600 pixels). The maximum custom resolution is 8192x1080 pixels at 60Hz for HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 ports, and 1080x8192 pixels for HDMI 2.0-1 and DP 1.2 ports. The other HDMI inputs (HDMI 2.0-2 and HDMI 2.0-3) support a maximum of 7680 pixels per height (1080x7680 pixels) at 60Hz. The maximum supported resolution on the 12G-SDI port is 4096x2160 pixels.
For the HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 ports, a refresh rate ranging from 23.98 to 240 Hz is supported. The loop ports (HDMI 2.0-1, HDMI 2.0-2, HDMI 2.0-3 and 12G-SDI) support the connection of up to 8 devices (per loop). The Genlock connector supports Bi-Level and Tri-Level signals, thus allowing cascading of up to 20 MX40 Pro devices.
The maximum capacity of the device is 9 million pixels - each port also offers a maximum capacity of 659,722 pixels for 8-bit color depth (at 60Hz), 329861 pixels for 10-bit and 12-bit depth (at 60 Hz), and 494791 pixels for 10-bit depth and 60 Hz when using the A10s Pro capture card).
